You can make creams and lotions for the body and face masks with lavender essential oil, taking advantage of its properties.
Here are some recipes found on the Internet for the most creative of you to experiment and make the most of it.
In the following recipe you can use olive oil, almond oil or choose the appropriate base oil according to the needs of your skin.
If you have dry skin, choose olive oil, but if you want some oil with a lighter texture, prefer the almond one.
Ingredients for a lavender body lotion
3/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil, almond oil or other oil base
-Half a cup of pure coconut oil
-Two tablespoons of pure shea butter
-Two tablespoons of beeswax
-A cup of distilled water
-30 drops of lavender essential oil
Put the olive oil (or almond oil or other base oil), coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax in a fireproof container. Fill a pot half-way with water and place the container into the water. Over low heat stirring constantly until the mixture of coconut oil, shea butter and beeswax to melt and homogenized.
Put the mixture in a jar and let it come to room temperature.
Meanwhile, heat the distilled water until it is lukewarm and pour it into the jar with the oil and wax. Add the lavender essential oil.
With a stick-blender, beat the ingredients until you get a creamy texture.
Transfer the body lotion a sterile, airtight jar and let it cool completely.
Keep it away from heat and sun.
Can last for up to several months.
Lavender face mask
Another recipe regarding facial mask.
You will need a teaspoon of olive oil, an egg yolk, one teaspoon corn flour and 10 drops of essential lavender oil.
Mix the ingredients.
Apply the mask over the face and neck for 20 minutes. Then rinse it off with water.
